- 125 scored questions + 5 unscored pretest questions; 225 minutes (3 hours 45 minutes); passing score 72 (scaled); fee $395.
- Requires passing the SIE (corequisite) and sponsorship by a FINRA member firm (Form U4). Most states also require the Series 63 or 66.
- Questions by function: F1 seeks business (9), F2 opens accounts (11), F3 recommends products and strategies (91), F4 handles trades and records (14).
- Retake waits: 30 days after a first or second failure and 180 days after three; FINRA shortens these to 15 and 60 days from January 19, 2027.
